Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis among Patients with Thyroid Disorders Visiting a Tertiary Care Centre

Introduction: Hashimoto’s thyroiditis is a chronic autoimmune lymphocytic characterised by thyroid autoantibodies. Early detection and treatment of this condition help in reducing the morbidity mortality associated with it. The aim study was to find out prevalence among patients disorders visiting tertiary care centre. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional conducted outpatient department Data from 14 April 2017 13 2019 collected between 30 June 2022 15 September medical records. Ethical approval obtained Nepal Health Research Council. diagnosed based on clinical presentation positive antibodies antigens. Convenience sampling method used. point estimate calculated at 95% Confidence Interval. Results: Among 813 disorders, 393 (48.33%) (44.89-51.77, Interval) had thyroiditis. manifestation spectrum were euthyroid 215 (54.70%), subclinical hypothyroidism 102 (25.95%), hyperthyroidism 23 (5.85%), overt 9 (2.30%) 4 (1.02%). Conclusions: higher than other studies done similar settings.
